KICT Holds Ceremony to Celebrate 40th Anniversary

The KICT, led by President Kim Byung-suk, celebrated the 40th anniversary of its foundation by holding a commemorative ceremony at its headquarters in Ilsan on June 8.
The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including: Vice Minister Oh Tae-seok from the Ministry of Science and ICT; Chairperson Kim Bok-chul of the National Research Council of Science & Technology; Kim Young-sik, Member of the National Assembly from the People Power Party; Sim Sang-jung, Member of the National Assembly from the Justice Party; Kim Byung-wook, Member of the National Assembly from the People Power Party; Han Jun-ho, Member of the National Assembly from the Democratic Party; Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang; and the heads of related government agencies and research institutes, as well as the heads of academic and professional associations in the construction field. They all gathered to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the KICT’s establishment.
Following the ceremony, KICT President Kim Byung-suk and the attending guests proceeded to the first floor lobby of the main building, where they participated in the unveiling of the “Wall of KICTizen,” a retiree memorial space, and planted commemorative trees in the back garden.
"The KICT will not only contribute to the advancement of Korea’s construction technology but will also be a leader in the innovative growth of the construction industry, by developing and disseminating the world’s best technologies,” stated President Kim in his commemorative address. “Above all, we will strive to address the current issues and challenges faced by the construction technology, to ensure that our country’s citizens can lead safer and healthier lives.”
