On September 26, the KICT held a ceremony recognizing the first group of companies to complete their residency at the KICT’s Smart Construction Support Center.
Of the 47 corporate residents of the Smart Construction Support Center, seven recently completed their five-year startup support programs that began in 2018. A ceremony was held to promote networking between graduating companies and for the conferment of “graduation” certificates. The celebratory event included meetings between the graduating companies and KICT President Kim Byung-suk, a briefing on post-graduate support, consultations and presentations, and plenty of networking opportunities.
Formed under Article 10-2 of the Construction Technology Promotion Act, the KICT’s Smart Construction Support Center is the only smart construction startup support center in Korea. The center promotes smart construction technology and fosters related startup ecosystems to contribute to the construction industry. It was jointly established by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the KICT and is operated by the KICT.
