From October 26 to 27, the KICT held the 6th Meeting of the KICT Council on Regional Cooperation.

Together with KICT researchers, officials, and KICT President Kim Byung-suk, in attendance were 14 members of the KICT Council on Regional Cooperation. They included city and provincial government officials and researchers and techno park representatives from various regions.

The meeting started on October 26 with a presentation on KICT’s current regional projects and future projects for 2025. The presentation was followed by discussions on technical networking, the joint identification and brainstorming of solutions to issues affecting various regions, and reflections upon previous successes.

The meeting was followed by a tour of the Ilsan wastewater treatment plant, where the visitors were briefed the technologies and facilities used in wastewater treatment. On October 27, the council members took a tour of the SOC Demonstration Research Center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province.

The Meeting of the KICT Council on Regional Cooperation is organized by the KICT Construction Industry Promotion Department’s Regional Cooperation Promotion Office and promotes the use of KICT technologies as solutions to regional issues and to stimulate the local economy.
