From March 21 to 22, the KICT held the 7th Meeting of the KICT Council on Regional Cooperation in collaboration with Busan Techno Park.

First started in 2021, the Meeting of the KICT Council on Regional Cooperation is now in its seventh year as a network of 6 institutions from 3 regions in Korea that pursues technical cooperation and the resolution of regional issues through advanced technology. The 7th Meeting of the KICT Council on Regional Cooperation was attended by members of 15 institutions belonging to 8 local governments, a clear sign that the Meeting is growing into a national consultative body.

The Meeting aims to use the KICT’s human and material resources to discover regional projects that will employ smart and future construction technology, Through this, it seeks to foster local companies, create jobs, promote regional industries, and stimulate economic activities. Organic cooperation is being pursued to that end, with regional research institutes developing policies, regional tech clusters (“techno parks”) promoting industrial growth, local governments providing support at the city and provincial levels, and the KICT supplying the R&D technology needed in the activities. Participants in the Meeting of the KICT Council on Regional Cooperation are united in their strategy and vision: to form a win-win network to turn policy into technology, technology into business, and business into industry.
