On April 6, the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT) held a seminar to officially present its future vision, including breakthrough infrastructure technologies designed to support national strategic industries such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), and small modular reactors (SMRs).

The KICT plans to expand its construction technologies into advanced industrial infrastructure fields, including environmental control systems for semiconductor manufacturing facilities, improved energy efficiency and safety for data centers, and the modularization of SMR infrastructure.

Emphasizing the importance of infrastructure in strengthening the competitiveness of Korea's national strategic industries, KICT President Park Sun-kyu, stated that the KICT would continue to pursue tangible outcomes through large-scale R&D initiatives and enhanced cooperation with related organizations.
