Dr. Chung, Il Moon wins 'Scientist of the Month' award on November

Dr. Chung, Il Moon, Head of the department of Hydro Science and Engineering Research Department (Senior Research Fellow) was selected as the Nov. 2024 recipient of the "Scientist of the Month" award, organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and related organizations.
Dr. Chung was recognized for his research on developing sand dam construction technology to address drought issues in water-scarce regions. He received the Minister of Science and ICT Award and a prize of 10 million KRW.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the National Research Foundation of Korea, the Korean Academy of Science and Technology, and the Korean Mathematical Society held the 2024 Excellent Scientist Awards Ceremony on December 12(thu). The event honored a total of 17 awardees across four categories, including the Korea Science and Engineering Awards (4 recipients), Young Scientist Awards (4 recipients), Scientist of the Month Awards (6 recipients), and the Seokjeong Award (3 recipients).
