The KICT held the opening ceremony for the Vietnam-Korea Cooperation Center for Smart City and Construction Technology (VKC) in Hanoi, Vietnam, on August 13.
The ceremony was attended by over 150 people, including key officials such as Kim Byung-suk, President of the KICT, Choi Young-sam, Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, Nguyen Tuong Van, Vice Minister of Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction, and Cheon Jae-min, Director of Overseas Construction Support at Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, as well as researchers and business leaders from both countries.
The VKC is located within the Academy of Managers for Construction and Cities under Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction in Hanoi, and features exhibitions of Korean smart city technology, a smart city certification data center, a virtual reality theater, and a training center. The VKC will serve as a hub for the development of smart cities in Vietnam, facilitating international joint research between the two countries, promoting technical exchanges, and supporting the entry of Korean companies into the country.
