On January 18, KICT offered firefighters working in Paju and Ilsan Fire Stations technical training on life detection and rapid rescue in the event of urban underground collapse scenes in the KICT Ilsan head office.

Twenty-five passionate firefighters—15 from Paju and ten from Ilsan Fire Station—attended the training where leaders and participants in relevant technical projects at KICT, including the Geotechnical Engineering Research Institute Director Lee Sung-won, Research Fellow Lee Ju-hyeong, Research Fellow Lee Woo-sik, and Senior Researcher Cho Jin-woo, gave technical presentations and answered questions.

KICT conducted a technology demonstration test in cooperation with the Seoul 119 Special Rescue Services in the KICT SOC test bed in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province on November 17, 2017.
