A delegation from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) visited the KICT headquarters in Ilsan on March 22. During the visit, the CSIRO delegation toured KITC research facilities after meeting with Director Jun-Hwa Jeong of the Department of Senior Research, Director Seok-Gu Kim of the Environment and Plant Research Center, and Senior Researcher Jeong-Woo Lee.
The CSIRO, a leading national research institute under the Australian government founded in 1926, has approximately 6,600 researchers. It conducts basic research focused on science and industry, and has been recognized as one of the top research institutes with vast research capacity and technical prowess. Meanwhile, the KICT’s Environment and Plant Research Center is Korea's largest government-sponsored research institute in the environment and plant sector and is equipped with the largest human resources and infrastructure in Korea in the field.
