KICT participated in the “2018 Korea Science Festival” in KINTEX, Ilsan, from August 9 to August 12. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity. KICT’s exhibit included an experience learning program that simulates the construction of Geoga Bridge, a VR concrete-mixing experience, and an O/X quiz, providing visitors to the booth with a wide variety of experiences.

The VR concrete-mixing experience was the most popular attraction. For this particular experience, visitors used VR equipment to find suitable concrete ingredients, mix the ingredients in a mixer, pour the mixture into molds for curing, and measure the strength of the set concrete. The experience program mimicked the actual processes used on real construction sites in Korea.

The Korea Science Festival is Korea’s largest science festival, visited by more than 200,000 visitors each year. This year, the festival celebrated its 22nd edition.
