On August 10, KICT hosted the 2018 KICT·WISET Career Search Mentoring Workshop. Eight of the twelve university and graduate school students currently receiving mentoring at KICT participated in this year's workshop. They were joined by 11 college and high school students that were part of the Women’s Engineering Research Team program hosted by WISET.

Through the program, which is now in its third year, female scientists at KICT mentor university students majoring in natural sciences and engineering and provide them with job seeking and career planning support.

The workshop began with a congratulatory address by KICT President Seung Heon Han, and included an introduction to KICT and the career search mentoring program, visits to the institute’s various research programs (including the Zero Carbon Green Home and Breakwater Testing Laboratory) and special lectures by mentors. Each mentee also gave a 3-minute presentation on her career aspirations; this was followed by advice from the mentors, simulation job interviews, and a book-sharing session in which participants shared recommended books with one another.
