The KICT has been selected as a "best donor of 2020" by the Community Chest of Korea. Of some 1,500 entities nationwide registered as donors with the Community Chest of Korea, "best donors" are selected each year in recognition of notable activities that foster positive social change and a culture of sharing. The selection criteria are maintaining donor status for a minimum of three years, annual total donation of over KRW 10 million, and contribution by more than 50% of all staff. For 2020, the Community Chest of Korea selected 39 "best donors" through a stringent screening process. Donations made each month by some 500 KICT employees go toward sponsoring low-income families, covering healthcare expenses of the needy, and supporting the welfare of elderly persons living alone.
