On February 8, representatives from the ROK/US Combined Forces Command, including Chief of the Engineers Division, Brigadier General Kim Heung-kyu, visited the KICT headquarters in Ilsan to meet with KICT President Kim Byung-suk for technical exchange. The visiting delegation also toured the KICT's laboratories and facilities.

Brigadier General Kim graduated from the Korea Military Academy in 1992. He formerly served as Commander of the 1st Engineer Brigade of the Korean Army and currently serves as Chief of the Engineers Division of the ROK/US Combined Forces Command.

The KICT has been cooperating with the ROK/US Combined Forces Command, led by Commander of the United States Army General Paul J. LaCamera, in various capacities since 2021.
