KICT hosted a project briefing session at The Ilsan headquarters, for SMEs and middle-market enterprises that were selected to participate in the “KICT SME and Middle-Market Enterprise Support Program in Response to COVID-19.” The event was presided over by the Kwon, Soo-Ahn, who is the KICT Vice President for Industrial Innovation, and the SME Support Division.
Construction SMEs and middle-market enterprises have been hard-hit by the economic crisis caused by COVID-19. The project draws on KICT funds, research manpower, and infrastructure to provide support packages to construction SMEs and middle-market enterprises to ensure the continuation of business. The support provided through the KICT includes: technical assistance; aid for the retention of R&D manpower; marketing support; and management consulting in various areas, such as for overseas construction disputes.
The project is being conducted in the form of five programs under two categories, and with the participation of 90 businesses that were chosen through an application process. Competition for project participation was fierce, with a competition rate of 3:1.
Through the project, the KICT will be providing some KRW 4.9 billion in aid to the 90 participating firms.
