On February 21, the KICT hosted the International Off-Site Construction (OSC) Conference at the KINTEX in Ilsan.

The event, which opened with an address by KICT President Kim Byung-suk, was attended by Estonian Ambassador to Korea Sten Schwede, Brigadier General of the Republic of Korea Army Corps of Engineers Kim Tae-hoo, and other distinguished guests. The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. Mohamed Al-Hussein of the University of Alberta and followed by presentations by CEO of Harmet OÜ, Alo Tamm, Head of the Korean branch of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, Mārtiņš Baumanis, Director of Mid-rise Modular Construction Research at the KICT, Bae Kyu-woong, and Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Building Research at the KICT, Park Keum-sung.

Attended by officials from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and other Korean government agencies, local governments, and academic and research circles, the OSC Conference was held as part of Modular & Precast Concrete OSC Expo 2024. The major event brought together major stakeholders in the public and private building and engineering sectors to discover business opportunities focused on modular construction and precast concrete.
