At 5 PM (Chinese local time) on August 1 (Thu) in Hangzhou, China, the KICT and the China Urban Engineering Technology Application Center of Water Pollution Control (中国城镇水体污染治理工程技术应用中心) signed a comprehensive MOU for introducing Korean environmental technologies into the Chinese environmental market. In attendance at the signing were: Seung Heon Han, KICT President, and Xiaoyan Wang, President of the Center, and numerous researchers and administrative experts from both countries.
Under the MOU, KICT, and China Urban Water Pollution Control will be cooperating to: transfer river water purification technologies from the KICT's Department of Land, Water, and Environment Research; establish a joint Korea-China water ecosystems research center; and complete various water quality improvement projects in China by working with related companies and agencies in both countries.
China Urban Water Pollution Control is a state-run research agency that aims to improve the water environment of China. The agency was launched in 2015 with 19 Chinese agencies as joint promoters and with the approval of China’s Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
