The KICT won the 2018 MOLIT baseball championship by winning all of its preliminary and tournament games in the 6th Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) baseball tournament. The tournament, hosted by the MOLIT and organized by the Jeju Free International City Development Center, the previous year’s winner, was held from May 19 to 20 in six baseball parks, including the Songdo LNG Sports Town in Incheon. 

 

A total of 19 organizations participated in the event, including the MOLIT, the KICT, the Korea Airports Corporation, the Korea Expressway Corporation, and K-water, among others. The event provided a meaningful opportunity for the different organizations to foster amity between themselves. As for the KICT, its championship was even more impressive this year because its baseball team became the most decorated team ever with five championships total as it has also won in 2007, 2010, 2014 and 2015.

 

The KICT's baseball players, united by a strong will to win, made it to the knockout stage by winning two preliminary games and competed against strong teams starting in the quarterfinals, but that didn’t stop them from raising this year’s championship cup and flag.
